Will BMW's next M3 come equipped with four cylinders? Since the quote was released, there has been no official word from BMW about the statement, but if you take a look at the M3's history, you'll see that it's not a far-fetched idea.

BMW has been actively celebrating the 30th anniversary of its legendary series, the M5, and to top off the festivities, the automaker has just announced that it will be releasing 30 copies of the all-new 30th Anniversary Edition M5 in the U.S. for 2015, exciting BMW fans throughout the country! Only 300 Anniversary Edition M5's will be produced worldwide, making it a hot commodity in the automotive market.

It's astounding to think that the BMW M5 first went into production 30 years ago, and it's even more impressive when you take a look back and see how far it's come. Rumors have been swirling about the production of a BMW crossover for quite some time now, and just recently, it was confirmed that the German automaker does have plans to create one. The flagship crossover is said to be called the X7 and it will be built right here in the U.S. at their Spartanburg, SC plant.
