BMW’s redesigned flagship is engineered to deliver confident performance from the driver’s seat and first-class comfort throughout the cabin. Its dramatic exterior, available gasoline and plug-in-hybrid powertrains, and new generation of digital technology establish the 7 Series as far more than a comfortable way to reach a destination.
For drivers in Springfield and throughout southwest Missouri, it is an early glimpse at the direction BMW luxury is heading next.
Why Does the New BMW 7 Series Command Attention?
TThe front of the new 7 Series has been shaped to appear lower, wider and more substantial. Available BMW Crystal Headlights use precision-cut glass elements, while the available illuminated kidney grille creates a distinctive visual signature after sunset.
The sedan’s extended proportions help communicate its position at the top of the BMW passenger-car lineup. Available BMW Individual paint selections and two-tone finishes add a more tailored character for buyers who do not want their flagship sedan to blend into the executive parking lot.
It is bold—but not bold merely for the sake of accumulating chrome and calling it a personality.
What Technology Will Be Inside the New 7 Series?
BMW Panoramic Vision places driving information across the lower windshield area, allowing the driver to see important details without repeatedly glancing toward the center of the dashboard. It works with a high-resolution Central Display and available BMW 3D Head-Up Display.
An available 14.6-inch Passenger Screen provides the front passenger with a dedicated interface for entertainment, games and compatible applications. BMW Operating System X and an enhanced Intelligent Personal Assistant are intended to make vehicle functions easier to access through natural interactions.
Available technology includes:

These systems can support the driver, but they do not make the 7 Series autonomous. The person behind the wheel remains responsible for supervising the vehicle.
What Engines Will Be Available?
BMW has announced traditional gasoline and plug-in-hybrid choices.
The BMW 740 and 740 xDrive use a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline-six engine with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. Current preliminary specifications place output at 394 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive 740 xDrive is estimated to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds.
The BMW 750e xDrive plug-in hybrid is expected to provide up to 35 miles of estimated electric range under ideal conditions. Once its initial electric charge is depleted, its inline-six gasoline engine allows the journey to continue without an extended charging stop. BMW currently expects U.S. availability to begin in November 2026. Final EPA figures and complete performance specifications remain pending.
That flexibility may be particularly useful for drivers who want electric capability during shorter trips around Springfield but still regularly travel toward Branson, Joplin, northwest Arkansas or other regional destinations.
How Comfortable Is the Rear Cabin?
Calling it spacious would be accurate but incomplete.
Available Executive Lounge seating can add heating, ventilation, massage functions, a leg rest and a footrest. Passengers can use touchscreens integrated into the rear doors to adjust climate, lighting, seat settings, sunshades and entertainment.
The available 31.3-inch 8K BMW Theatre Screen lowers from the roof to create a private rear entertainment space. Streaming, gaming, Bluetooth connectivity and video-call capability can turn a longer drive into productive time—or an excellent excuse to ignore email completely.
An available Panoramic Sky Lounge LED Roof, premium BMW Individual materials and available Bowers & Wilkins audio further elevate the cabin.

BMW has not yet finalized every price, configuration or availability date for the new 7 Series. Equipment shown by BMW may be optional, limited by configuration or introduced after the model’s initial launch.
