What's New for the 2022 BMW M3?
For the first time, the BMW M3 offers a drivetrain choice in 2022. You can now get all-wheel drive with the M3 in addition to front-wheel drive, which was previously the drivetrain available with the luxury sedan. With the M3 comes a faster acceleration time if you get the sedan with all-wheel drive. You can also switch between all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive and select from multiple driving modes for a personalized driving experience.
2022 M3 Trims and Features
The 2022 BMW M3 is produced in two trim levels called the M3 and M3 Competition, which is now available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Along with the drivetrain, the two trim levels of the sedan have slightly different features. The M3 Coupe has LED lights and performance tires. It has 18-inch wheels in the front end and larger 19-inch wheels in the back. A custom rear differential gives the sedan superior traction. The interior includes a push-button start mechanism and keyless entry. The seats are finished in leather, and the front seats have a sporty design. Heated seats are a welcome touch in cold weather. An infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard, and you will also get navigation. Automatic climate control is also standard.
The M3 Competition has the same standard interior features as the base model. It has 19-inch wheels on the front end and 20-inch wheels on the back. Performance tires are also included with this trim. Black exhaust tips and a black spoiler are standard on the Competition, and it also has unique seat belts. With the Competition, you can get an extra package, a Driving Assistance Package that includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. An Executive Package is available for both trim levels with a wireless charging pad, a WiFi hotspot, a power-operated trunk lid, and a heated steering wheel. The headlights are upgraded to adaptive LED lights as well.

2022 BMW M3 Horsepower
Two engines are offered with the 2022 BMW M3. The base engine is a 3.0L V6 with a maximum of 473 HP in power and over 405 LB-FT in torque. The more powerful engine that powers the Competition trim level produces 503 HP and nearly 480 LB-FT of torque. Rear-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain on the base trim.
BMW M3 Safety
There are many safety features that are included in the 2022 M3 as standard equipment and additional safety features as options. These include active cruise control and a pedestrian airbag. The BMW M3 also has an available driver assistance package that will provide automatic braking, active lane-keeping, and pedestrian recognition for the optional front and rear sensors.
Another excellent safety feature is the M3's lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist. These are features that alert the driver of a potential collision and then steers the car back into its lane. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also available as options.
