What's New for the 2023 BMW 4 Series?
The 2023 BMW 4-series sedan and the 3-series sedan on which it is based are very similar to the driver's seat. That's a good thing! From the outside, the 4-series looks radically different from its 4-door, 3-series predecessor thanks to its two-door body layout and twin-kidney grille.
For 2023, BMW's entry-luxury coupe and convertible are substantially unchanged. The Shadowline design package now includes M Sport brakes with red or blue calipers. BMW's gimmicky gesture controls for the infotainment system are missing in the Premium package. The optional head-up display is now only offered on the highest-spec M440i cars. All versions now get a faux-leather dashboard cover, and the options list includes a Parking Assistance package.
What Are the 2023 BMW 4 Series Trims & Features?
The BMW 4 Series Coupe has four trim levels available for 2023: 430i, 430i xDrive, M440i, and M440i xDrive. The 430i has an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, 18-inch alloy wheels, and automatic LED headlights with automatic high beams. The six-cylinder engine, M Sport components, Comfort Access keyless entry, a body kit with aerodynamic features, a rear spoiler, and programmable ambient interior lighting are added to M440i grades.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2023 BMW 4 Series Have?
The 4-series is equipped with the same two engines provided in the 3-series. A 255-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine powers models with the designation 430i. A smooth-running 3.0-liter inline-six turbocharged engine that receives assistance from a 48-volt hybrid system to produce 382 hp powers the M440i. Thanks to a modified suspension, more aggressive steering calibration, a wider rear track, and a lower center of gravity than the 3-series sedan, the 4-series offers a dynamic driving experience.
What Safety Features Does the 2023 BMW 4 Series Include?
Numerous driver-assistance functions are included. They are standard equipment by BMW, while more sophisticated features are available as extras. Visit the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for more details regarding the results of the 4-series crash tests. Essential safety elements include:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Automated emergency braking
