What's New for the 2022 BMW i4?

The i4 is a brand new model from BMW in 2022. The i4 arrives on the scene with all the great features BMW fans have traditionally enjoyed, and it brings some exciting new amenities. One of the key distinguishing features of the i4 is an electric powertrain under its hood. The i4 comes in two trim levels, and they both get substantial power from the electric mechanical system. Aside from the electric power system, the BMW i4 has a striking contemporary design with a sporty coupe-like outer shell and a modern cabin with the latest in safety, technology, and comfort.

2022 i4 Trims & Features

In 2022, the i4 is produced in two trims. The first trim is the eDrive40, and the second one is the i4 M50. The two trims have many of the same features and amenities, but they vary in appearance and power. On the technology front, the BMW i4 is equipped with a sleek dashboard with a large 12.3-inch digital display screen. There is also a separate touchscreen with a 14.9-inch screen. Together, these innovative display screens are called "Curved Display." Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard, and you can get directions with Google Maps or Apple Maps. The eDrive40 has an aerodynamic design and blue accents across the exterior that distinguish it from the M50. Additionally, the base trim has exclusive wheels and bumpers. The M50 has trim-exclusive exterior grey accents, custom mirrors, and unique wheels.

2022 BMW i4 Horsepower

You have a choice of two engines with the 2022 BMW i4, which vary based on whether you get the base or second trim. The first trim has a total power output of 335 HP, and the second trim has an increase in power to 536 HP. The base model accelerates from 0-60 MPH in 5.5 seconds, while the second engine has a faster acceleration rate of 0-60 MPH in 3.7 seconds. The electric system on the base trim provides about 300 miles of electric range based on EPA estimates, and the second trim gets 245 miles of electric range. The base trim can travel close to 110 miles in 10 minutes with a DC fast-charging cord, and the second trim can go about 88 miles with 10 minutes of DC fast-charging on the road.
