2021 BMW 2 Series

What's New For the 2021 BMW 2 Series?

The 2 Series is BMW's compact sports car that can be configured and customized in many different ways. For the 2021 model year, BMW is upgrading the 2 Series with more features as standard, and they may be slimming down the lineup a bit.

Currently, the BMW 2 Series can be had in three body styles. You can choose if you want a coupe, a soft-top convertible, or a four-door Gran Coupe body style when selecting your 2 Series. With the 2021 model year, BMW may be getting rid of the soft-top convertible options, as it overlaps with the new 4 Series convertible. The 2 Series will be getting a whole host of safety and tech features as standard, which is always nice to see on a sport-luxury vehicle like a BMW.

2021 2 Series Trims & Features

The 2021 2 Series will most likely come back with all of the same trims for the 2020 model year. This means the base trim will be the 230i Coupe, and you can upgrade it to the M240i Coupe if you want more power and a sportier look. The final trim you can select for the 2 Series is the M2, which gets you the sportiest and most track-oriented version of the 2 Series. All trims of the 2 Series will now come with Apple CarPlay as standard, which is incredibly convenient if you plan to drive your 2 Series daily.

2021 BMW 2 Series Horsepower

BMW is known for making some of the most capable sports cars on the road, and the new 2021 BMW 2 Series is no exception. The 230i trim will most likely be powered by a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder that puts out about 240 hp and accelerates from 0-60 MPH in around 5-seconds. If you step up to the M240i, you will get a turbocharged inline six-cylinder that makes about 335 hp and will get you from 0-60 in the low 4-second range. Both trims can be had with BMW's xDrive AWD system if you want more practicality and a bit more performance.

Both trims will most likely be available with a manual or automatic transmission. The final performance level you can pick with the 2 Series is the M2. The M2is powered by a feisty 3.0L TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine that makes over 400 hp. The M2 also gives you the option between a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed double-clutch for lightning-fast shifts.
