What's New for the 2018 BMW 4 Series?

The 2018 edition of the BMW 4 Series features an array of design modifications like newly re-styled aerodynamic front and rear ends, tighter more responsive suspension and updated precision-tuned steering. Also new for 2018, the 4 Series gets a cosmetic update in the form of new paint colors and interior options, as well as some new hardware, with the addition of full adaptive LED lights and some brand new wheel choices.

The sophisticated 4 Series is available three different body trims, the 2-door Coupe, 2-door Convertible and 4-door Gran Coupe. All models all powered by a 430i 2.0-liter dual-turbocharged 4-cylinder or 440i 3.0-liter dual-turbocharged 6-cylinder motor. Both engines come in either rear-wheel-drive or xDrive all-wheel-drive. The sleek streamlined Coupe offers track-ready performance combined with BMW's iconic quality, highlighted by standard features like Adaptive M Suspension with dampers, Variable Sport steering and a 2-way powered moonroof. The 4 Series Convertible line features a retractable hardtop roof that combines the freedom of the open road with superior elegance and style. The Gran Coupe provides the comfort and size of a 4-door 5-seat sedan, boasting 45.9 cubic feet of passenger room, while delivering the athletic handling and acceleration synonymous with the 4 Series. All trim levels are available in a variety of performance and luxury package upgrades, adding a myriad of customizable wheel, paint and interior options, as well as well as premium upgrades like racing-grade M Sport brakes, Harman Kardon surround sound audio as well as a fighter jet-inspired heads up display.

The track-inspired acceleration and performance of the 4 Series is accentuated by its superior handling provided by the Adaptive M Suspension system with independent electronically controlled dampers.

Staying Safe on the Road

While this year's model has yet to be officially tested, the 4 Series' smaller sibling, the 3 Series, was awarded the 2018 IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus and a 5-star Overall Rating by the NHTSA.
