Recently, BMW has shown off its new tech called the Theatre Screen. They showed it off this year at the CES. It's a huge 31-inch screen that goes into the back of the vehicle to allow those in rear sears to watch the height in entertainment. BMW is saying that it will likely be set into the ceiling of luxury vehicles coming out soon. They say that it will make the back seats in a larger vehicle into a “private cinema lounge.”
The screen is going to have an 8K by 2k resolution, and it will be able to play a number of different aspect ratios, including 16:9, 32:9, and 21:9. The whole thing is powered by a Fire TV running Fire OS. This fact means that it can access just about any modern streaming service, just like any Fire TV device. It even has a 5G connection built right in so that you can get your content to wherever you are nice and quickly.

You will likely be able to use Fire OS apps through the device as well. There will be a touchscreen display for you to use, and there will also be a touchpad built into the door that you will be able to use for the purpose as well. This will be in the rear doors of the car. Rumors are that this will be for the luxury options called 7 Series.
More details are currently unknown when it comes to this option in terms of exactly which cars will have it or how much it will cost. It is known that the system will include surround sound, however. This system will have 30 different speakers throughout the back area in these vehicles. BMW is even calling it “4D” to indicate that not only will sound come from every direction, but it will also produce intense vibrations from your seat itself. When an intense scene happens, and the sound becomes loud, you will be able to do more than hear it; you will be able to feel it as well.
