Recently, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the 2017 BMW X1 and 2017 BMW 2 Series “Top Safety Picks.” The X1 is no stranger to receiving this prestigious award either. Each vehicle can be equipped with an optional front crash prevention system, which earned high marks from the IIHS. The advanced technology includes a forward collision warning unit that helps warn drivers of a potential collision with the vehicle in front of you. The X1 and 2 Series can also be equipped with Lane Departure Warning, which will alert you when your vehicle begins to stray from its designated lane.
Standard, the vehicles get Brake Dry Assist, BMW TeleService and a Cornering Brake Control system. There’s also stability and traction control which will help keep you on the road in adverse conditions.
