BMW's highly anticipated i Remote app has finally been made available to all Apple Watch users. Built exclusively for BMW i3 and i8 models, the unique app allows owners of the high-end hybrid cars to utilize certain functions while away from their cars and receive up-to-date vehicle information. Available through Apple iTunes, i Remote is a free app Apple Watch users can download now and take advantage of.
As of now, BMW is only one of two automakers that has released an app for Apple Watch. The brand created i Remote in order to give owners the chance to connect with their car from afar and access specific features that are typically only available while inside the vehicle. Through the use of the app, BMW owners will be able to check their car's battery status, change the cabin temperature, view the car's current range, locate their car in a crowded parking lot, receive navigation instructions and see if their car doors are locked. Additionally, drivers will be able to obtain service reminders to keep them on track with their car's routine maintenance needs over time.
