We still have a few more months before the BMW 7 Series lands on the market, but that hasn't stopped the automaker from giving fans a glimpse of what's to come when the vehicle arrives. BMW expects the next-generation luxury sedan to set new benchmarks with its brand-new features, especially its innovative, next-level technology systems, which will improve the overall driving experience.
Touch Display and BMW gesture control are two of many all-new features that will be available on the upcoming BMW 7 Series. Touch Display will allow users to utilize the iDrive operating system simply by touching the monitor; however, drivers will still be able to access the system by using the previously available Controller. In addition to Touch Display, BMW gesture control will find its way onto the 7 Series. The system uses 3D sensors that allow users to control infotainment functions through hand movements. Accepting phone calls and controlling the audio volume are two functions that can be controlled using the feature. One of most anticipated features to appear on the new 7 Series is remote control parking. The function will give drivers the ability to move the car in and out of parking spaces or through a parking garage with no one behind the wheel of the vehicle. The entire operation is conducted using the BMW Display Key, which will also debut on the new 7 Series. Other driver assistance technologies, including lane departure warning, steering and directional control assistant, rear collision prevention and cross-traffic warning, will offered as well on the next-generation model.
